A close shave

Well, today took a ride on my brother's motorcycle. Quite a different experience from sitting in a car... but .. nearly met with an accident. Apparently the car brushed against the side of the bike. One of the side lights like falling off. Thankfully both of us are safe and sound. My bro say if the car made a direct impact well think we would become super man and start flying without wings.

This incident gave me certain fears of the bike and i don't think i wanna sit on bikes anymore. In a nutshell, cars seem to be safer; a slight barrier away from the direct impact in comparison to bikes. I guess during a real accident, one can never say - the person being trapped in the car or flung like a doll. No wonder the saying is that the roads are like the tiger's mouth.

I began to think about the riders i worked with in my previous job. It's no joke where they travel on the road constantly and i think they are anything but slow drivers. Now only pray that all of them exercise caution. After all they would only be on the losing end if anything happens.

Anyway, I'm ok people. Still mapling away and oh yah Wawako at level 55 or 56 liao opps i actually forgot to update..... Disastrous. Another thing - i was caught in the Novena MRT flood the other day, forget to blog about it. Hey, i was quite amused more than anything else. I mean you don't see rain coming down from the lights and water gushing down the stone steps of the basement MRT station everyday. That's about all .. anyone wanna watch Gutamano Bay (eekks not sure about the spelling though)? Think it would be quite an interesting show.

Book Recommendation Time - Part 2

First things first, Wawako is at level 54!! (some people growing quite sick of Wawako's progress, but that's also when i take a break from maple and blog). Anyway, finished Angels & Demons by Dan Brown in 6++ hrs time. Of Science and Religion - what are the roles played by these two fields respectively?
At the end of the day; it is the intentions behind the actions that one take. For the cause of something; no matter how noble it may sounds... what are the lengths that one should go to in acheiving the aim.
Anyway, a good read is a good read. Think would cover the remaining Dan Brown's books - Deception Point and Digital Fortress. Eventually would go back to Dean Koontz - another writer whom i was never able to finish his books. Hopefully i can do it this time round. : )

Book Recommendation Time

The hot book to read - not the Da Vinci Code (cos everybody reading it) but Tuesdays with Morrie. The book dictates the last last 14 lessons that a professor has with his student. Lessons not of textbook knowledge but of LIFE.
What struck me deepest was the sentence of
- Accept the past as past without denying it or discarding it. Makes me wonder if Tuesdays with Morrie is a work of fiction or non-fiction.
Simple truth but somehow along the way, we get too caught up in things. There are some who seek remiscence in the past or fear to embrace the future. There are others who dun see that the past is the building blocks of one's future and by denying the past; our building blocks for the future are eroded.
I won't fully exclude myself from what i have described earlier; i also belong to one of those "cannot see the light yet". Ha Ha. More reading i guess. Jia you wo !! : )

Moving On

Wawako is at Level 53 - applause please : ) besides that, with or without, getting used to things as it is. Life goes on. Ohh many things to do still. My jie mei's all graduating liao celebrations in the pipeline. More reading to do. Hmm, that's quite a handful. Jia you wo. : )
